Kellett Clear Trial Kit – Review
Kellett Skincare was formulated by Dr. Lisa Kellett, who studied at the prestigious University of Toronto med school and specializes in dermatology. After years of her adult patients asking for products that could help acne and wrinkles she decided to create something herself and only use the best ingredients that’s ideal for skin care.
I was sent Kellett Clear Trial Kit ($75) which includes 3 x 10ml of the Kellett Polishing Gel Cleanser, Moisturizing Gel and Clarifying Acne Treatment and is ideal for those that are looking to experiment with the Kellett Clear Skincare products before buying the full size bottles. All products all free from Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals and Phthalates.
Kellett Polishing Gel Cleanser gently exfoliates and dissolve impurities, helps regulate sebum production and soothe inflammation for improved skin texture while helping to restore skin’s hydration. I love that this acts as a cleanser and as an exfoliator thanks to the tiny micro beads, just don’t expect it to take off waterproof mascara, I still use my makeup remover for this beforehand. The micro- beads did help bring up stubborn breakouts while being gentle on my skin, no more weekly microdermabrasions for this girl. It doesn’t have a strong medicated scent that you would expect from an acne treatment cleanser, which I love. I noticed a huge difference in my skin’s texture within only a few short days and it got better as the weeks went on. My skin was noticeably smoother and brighter and my makeup even applied easier as a result of it. Since it is medicated, I found it too harsh and drying to use twice a day, as soon as I switched it to a nightly cleanser it was perfect and not drying at all.
Kellett Moisturizing Gel improves skin’s moisture retention while helping to reduce blemishes, calm inflammation and fade pigmentation while its anti-aging peptides help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This might be one of my favourite moisturizers to date as I always seems to go overboard when applying my facial cream; pea size, forget about it, more like loonie size for this girl and then I still feel the need to apply more. With this moisturizing gel a little goes a long way, and when you’re told to use a pea size, a pea size is all you need; in fact, a pea size is enough to cover your entire face and neck. I’m not sure how they did this, but it’s amazing. This gel is super hydrating, moisturizes for the entire day and goes hand in hand with the acne treatment to help prevent blemishes.
Kellett Clarifying Acne Treatment helps to clear up existing acne pimples and prevent breakouts by penetrating pores and killing acne causing bacteria. This is my favourite product out of the 3 and the one I will be repurchasing for sure. It contains 5% benzoyl peroxide which helps clear up any blemishes you may have. It’s a very thin, clear, milky formula that’s gentle yet high effective and is safe to use every day. I couldn’t believe that after only a few short hours, after applying my first application, the redness of my acne had calmed down, within 1-2 days my acne went noticeably down and by day 3 the pimple is usually gone. The only problem I have with this product is when it dries, about an hour after, it leaves behind a white cast on the treated area, making it next to impossible to cover-up with makeup as you would end up rubbing it off. For this reason I’ve only been applying it at night, although it is recommend to use twice a day, if not leaving the house, I do apply it twice and the acne clears up even quicker this way. You only needed the smallest amount of product for treating your acne/ blemish so while this bottle might be small it’s going to last forever.
Overall this Kellett Clear Trial Kit has totally changed the texture of my skin in only 2 weeks, I’m on my 3rd week now and am starting to run low on all 3 products. The kit was said to last 2 weeks, but since I was only using the polishing gel cleanser and acne treatment once a day, it lasted a lot longer. I’ll probably almost get 4 weeks out of this kit which isn’t too bad for only $75, but if you’re looking to purchase just one of the three for acne, I would suggest the Kellett Clarifying Acne Treatment. It retails for $75 for 50ml (which would least at least 15 weeks) with daily use and I found this to be the quickest acting to get rid of those pesky blemishes. This 3 piece kit has been a lifesaver for me these past few weeks and now the acne treatment is a product I won’t be able to live without. I have noticed less and less breakouts, only a few popping up now and then, all I can say is “bye, bye acne; hello clear skin”!
